Mrs. Sara Jones posted an insightful commentary on legalism, worthy of reading and thinking about. It's easy to live by a set of rules. It's a lot more difficult to live by the Spirit. Although we are to always follow God's commandments (evidenced in His word), there are a lot of areas in a Christian's life that are left to liberty.
There's a big difference between convictions and preferences. Let us never be so pious as to impose our mere preferences on other believers. Above all, let us show love, which is the greatest commandment and the greatest gift.
