Visiting the past ...

The two older kids and I took a few hours last weekend to sneak up to a Civil War reenactment taking place about 20 minutes away. They will be learning about the Civil War in the spring so I thought it would be a good opportunity to pique their interest!

As soon as we arrived, we saw a group of soldiers preparing for battle. The man who was the general took a few minutes to talk to the children and show them some authentic Civil War-era pictures of children he collected.

We even got to meet our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln!
