Bearded Stranger

Here is Kevin at the five week point in growing his beard. After his appendectomy, he decided to let it grow out for awhile, since he hadn't shaved for several days while staying in the hospital.

I can't say that I was a big fan and got rather impatient for him to shave it off--January 21st was Ultimatum Day. But, he always lets me do whatever I want with MY hair. So I figured I should be just as obliging.

The funny thing was, after he shaved it off, I felt this huge sense of relief. As long as he had his beard, he didn't quite feel like the husband that I know and love. My Kevin finally came back to me!! No longer would a bearded stranger be coming home from work to my house every day. They say it's a compliment if women don't like you with facial hair because it means that they like your face unobstructed. :) All those weeks, I missed my ol' Kev!!

Wow, he does look really different with a beard. But a very imposing lawyer. If he is ever in a courtroom and needs to be more...scary (in a good way, Kevin!)....I'd say grow it back. And then shave it off again so Amy will be happy. =D

What I noticed most in the pictures was Kevin's nicely even beard.

As someone who has a couple of "thin" (aka nearly bare) strips in my beard, I have to say Kev really rocks the bearded look. Definite beard envy going on over here! :-)

I think if he has a beard, I liked the earlier version -- like the 5 week, thinner rather than the full thick beard. Oh, my brother ...

Megan - you mean the 2-week beard that I had when you were here? The pictures in this post are at about 4 - 5 weeks.

I like it but then my dad had a beard most of my first decade and I cried when he shaved it off. :)

I laughed when I read this post. This is EXACTLY how I feel whenever N grows his hair longer. I feel bad wanting him to cut it because he has never been the guy to complain about my hair short (ear length) or "long" (top of my shoulders). So I grin and bear it, but in the end I'm always thrilled when he goes short again and I am reminded of the hair length he had a decade ago. I am so pathetic. ;-)
