He is Risen!

Easter Sunday ... the kids are at such fun ages and growing up too fast!

This is the first and last time we will dye eggs with shaving cream.  What a mess!  The swirly colors were fun but the smell got to me.  I'd rather smell vinegar any day than Barbasol.

We made an egg tree.  Meredith, at age eight, is an amazing egg blower.  She didn't seem to mind and she saved me from having a headache.  Nice!  If you look closely you will see that the eggs cracked. It lasted about 48 hours before a child got to it.  I guess that's pretty good ...

We made these cute little birds nests to sit by place settings on Easter Sunday.  Super easy and fun!  I will make these again.

We always do Resurrection Rolls.  The kids never let me forget to do it, as they love it so much.

Yay!  A family snapshot where everyone is looking at the camera.  We had to get this before church because there was a fat chance everyone would still look good in their outfits after we let them loose!

These are my two guys.  I love them.

Some spritzers and appetizers while the ham was baking.

What a pretty day!

Grandpa with little Cars.

Cutting the carrot cake with the grandmothers.

Carson's first egg hunt.

The hunt was fun but the big purple ball was the BEST.

Easter at the Koons'

Sophia thought she was so big joining in the egg-dyeing festivities.

Hot cross buns: a tradition that my taste buds will not let me give up. Our favorite is Martha's version with dried cherries and nutmeg.

This year I was not going to do "Resurrection Rolls." But the kids wouldn't let me. So on Saturday afternoon I got a can of crescent roll dough and we wrapped marshmallows to illustrate the empty tomb. Clara's best friend Eden joined us. The kids just love this.

While Meredith is too cool to let her mom fix her hair up in curlers, Clara agreed that I could. She was too cute!

When I took out the curlers, Kevin gave me this look that said, "What did you do to my daughter?" I thought it was adorable. Clara liked it too.

Aunt Beth made this adorable bunny.

When the guys hid the eggs, they tied one egg to some fishing line. When Meredith went to pick it up, Colin reeled it in. Hysterical! The kids thought it was so funny.

Here's Uncle Colin with his fishing pole. :)

Kevin's mom found this edible Easter basket grass that was a HUGE hit. In fact, the neighbor kids were all begging to have some today. I can't believe it took them this long to make edible grass! It has a subtle fruit flavor and is the texture of straw, if you go for that kind of thing. Sophia clearly does. :)
